Bio
In my introduction and the welcome message, I told you a little bit about myself -- what inspires me, my background, my interests, and goals. I would like all of us you join this discussion creating a new thread "Bio - Your Name" and share a bit about ourselves -- our interests, the field that we would like to work, things that we have achieved that we are proud of, our dreams and goals for the future and anything else that we may feel would interest others. I look forward to seeing all of you on the Discussion Board forum - 'Bio - Prof. Palit'.
We have, typically, two discussion questions every week. Your answers to these discussion questions need to be well-thought out and about 150 - 300 words. You are required to respond to Discussion Questions (DQs) at the latest by Saturdays, and to your peers by Sunday. If you ONLY post your own response, you will only received 1 point for the Discussion Question. You need to AT LEAST respond to two of your peers.
For this introductory week you are only required to complete one Discussion Question (DQ) and complete one quiz. This week's discussion question is focused on getting to know each other. I grade on Mondays -- always.. so if you do not submit by Sunday midnight -- I cannot grade your response on Monday. For this Introductory week please post your introduction by Sunday - Week 1 under the Discussion Question board (see link on left if you are not sure where to find the Discussion Questions). It is worth 2 points. The second submission for this week is a survey. Please complete it by Wednesday - Week 1, as well. This is worth 1 point. Please see the discussion question on the link below. - 16

Module 2: DQ1
Please watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ruvb_kGAMYw
Referencing the video by Sara Sarasvathy above; the slide show on the Personality Dimensions of Entrepreneurs; and the Chapter 1 reading, participate in the following two-part discussion (please respond to both parts):
Part 1:
List five qualities that, according to you characterize successful entrepreneurs? [Some people say that people are born with these qualities while others say they can be learned. We, of course, believe it can be learned --- otherwise, we would not be offering this class and you would not be taking it.]
Part 2:
Of these five qualities, choose at least two qualities that would you like to develop in yourself. There is no better time to start than now. So please suggest clear action points by which you can develop these two qualities in yourself during the course of this semester. How would you measure your goals? [I have provided my own answer to this question, to serve as an example. Feel free to ask me how I have done at the end of the semester.]

Module 2: DQ2
Taking the idea of entrepreneurship to solve daunting social problems is what social entrepreneurs are doing today. Revisit the stories of how young social entrepreneurs are attempting to have a social impact (under Secondary Readings in Module 2) and discuss the following:
Which of the companies mentioned you find most intriguing? Which case do you find most unique? Why? Is it ethical to use the investor’s funds to promote social causes? Can profitability and social responsibility go hand in hand? - 11

Module3-DQ1
Read the two articles under Secondary Readings in Module 3. The first article explains the importance of observing trends in the external environment, and the second uses the case of Fisher Price, a toy company, to show why trends are so important to the success of a company. What trends in the external environment created the opportunity for Fisher Price to target their toys to Hispanic children? [Add an interesting subject line to your Discussion Board post and write your response directly on the dialog box. Do NOT attach from Computer on Discussion Board.]

Module 3: DQ2
In Module3-DQ1 we discussed the Fisher Price Case. In this DQ we look at a company - Dropbox - that went public in March 22, 2018. Please watch the Dropbox video The video captures an interview with the Dropbox COO who discusses how the company has continued to innovate, and where the ideas for these innovations came from. What are the different ways in which Dropbox has innovated and added value for their customers. Which trends have Dropbox leveraged in order to come up with these different innovations? From where did they get ideas for these innovations
